Augusta Street in Eugene, OR

Take a look at the August Street environment on Google Earth. The street goes right past Laurel Hill School. Surely if speed humps are sufficient for controlling speed in front of an elementary school with hundreds of children, they are sufficient for an environment where the occasional adult EWEB worker wears orange vests.

Minda Street in Eugene, OR

Minda Street in north Eugene is a residential street. I used to live on Long Island Drive off of Minda. My kids played in the street, and I'm sure kids still play in the street in the area, including on Minda. Here again, though, speed humps, not bumps, are used to control the traffic.
